The design of the optimization algorithm aims to determine the best configuration of several roofs, such that specific points in the interior floor area of the structure receives a target amount of daylight over a defined period of 24 hours.

The setup manipulates the roof geometry through a range of positions in the Z-axis. The analysis takes place on the interior floor space. The floor area is enclosed on all four sides to get a specific understanding of the effect of the roof positions as light filters through the gaps.
